Emails Emails Everywhere

Most contestants have heard from me probably at least once over the past several days.  In spite of my goal to stay on top of emails, I know that there is one email lurking out there that asked about the speech and I do not believe that I responded.  Of course, when I have five minutes to respond, I can't find the email.

So, here is the answer:
From the rules:
"a. Speech: Each contestant may use up to 30 seconds to tell the audience their name, age, school, something about themselves, and their favorite part of Punkin Chunkin.

b. Speech: Mrs. Contestants should additionally state why they want to represent Punkin Chunkin at Mrs. Delaware United States 2011."

An example of an appropriate speech for a child would be:

Hi, my name is Sally Smith and I am 10 years old.  I attend Westchester Elementary School in Dover, DE.  I have two dogs named Rover and Bob.  They are both shelties.  My favorite part of Punkin Chunkin is actually two things - the rides and the funnel cake.

Please do not feel that your child needs to speak for 30 seconds.  Plenty of little girls who won did so with a 10-15 second speech.

I hope that this helps everyone before this Saturday!!!

See you at the CHUNK!!!

Pageant Schedule

We cannot accept any additional contestants for the Tiny Miss through Teen.

We are still accepting Miss, Ms. and Mrs. contestants.

Tiny Miss through Teen Contestants - your pageant starts at 10:30AM on Saturday.  You should arrive at approximately 9:45AM to check in with myself and/or Ellie.  We will give you your contestant number that morning.

Miss, Ms. and Mrs contestants - your pageant starts at 12:30PM.  Although the pageant information states that you should arrive by 11:30AM, if you arrive before noon, you will be fine.

We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday!!!!!!!

If you have questions, please call or email us!!!

Please remember to arrive with plenty of time to find the Chunk!  Last year, I was late because I was lost for 30 minutes.

Crowns and Banners

Everything has arrived!!!  We have adorable contestant banners for this year.  They are ecru colored with an embroidered pumpkin on the shoulder.

The crowns have been at my house for awhile now.  I can't wait for the pageant to be here!!  Everyone is going to love this year's crowns and sashes!

And just wait until next year - we have some great ideas for a new customized pumpkin crown for winners!!!

Tiny Miss throught Teen

The morning pageant officially has 20 contestants.  This means that I must close the morning pageant to any additional entrants.

However, due to low numbers for the afternoon pageant, I am writing all of the teen contestants and asking if ALL of them are willing to compete during the afternoon, rather than in the morning.  If all of them agree to changing the time that they compete, I will allow additional entrants for the morning pageant.

Please check this blog tomorrow for updates.
Teen Contestants - please check your email.  Please be advised that if any one of you prefers to compete in the morning rather than the afternoon, then we will not move your division to the afternoon.
